Dontavious Broadnax was named SIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Kentucky State University’s matchup against Allen. The KSU linebacker scored two touchdowns and led both teams in tackles.
Broadnax scored his first touchdown off a blocked punt in the second quarter. The freshman scored again in the second quarter with a 20-yard pick-six.
Broadnax recorded seven solo tackles on the day. Those tackles include one sack and four tackles for a loss.
“The future is very bright for this freshman,” Kentucky State head coach Felton Huggins Jr. wrote on “X” (formally Twitter).
Broadnax played for the Bearcats from 2019-2023. In high school, he racked up 272 total tackles, 19.5 sacks, and eight fumble recoveries at linebacker.
