Lady Cats’ senior pitcher Brenna Conley was an ace on the mound this season, and it was most evident in region play. She allowed just four runs in 40 innings pitched, threw 73 strikeouts, and only saw batters record a hit 14 times against region opponents.
Conley’s dominant defensive display, along with an impressive offensive resume, earned her the title of Region 1 Player of the Year.
“I can’t say enough good things about Brenna,” said Lady Cats’ head coach Rex Wade.
She was a force at the plate as well as on the mound. Conley recorded 16 runs, 17 RBIs, eight doubles, three triples and a .545 batting average.
This is Conley’s second Player of the Year nod — she also claimed the title in the 2022 season. Her two-year reign of terror in the region comes to a bittersweet end as she graduates at the end of the school year.
“She’s done an outstanding job being a leader on this team,” Wade said. “We are so excited to have had her in this program and a part of us.”
With her high school career coming to a close, Conley starts a new chapter with the Charleston Southern University softball team. Conley signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the school last Wednesday, Nov. 9.
