The Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars (0-3) fell to the Brookwood High School Lady Warriors (6-0) 52-13.
Junior forward Sara Kate Crews led the team in rebounding— an area that Grace Christian Academy Head Coach Kelsey Harrell said was an improvement from the last game.
“One thing that was very, very good was Sara Kate’s rebounding,” Harrell said. “I told [Crews] in the locker room, ‘I couldn’t have asked you to rebound better or change anything in your rebounding tonight.’”
The Lady Cougars fell behind the Lady Warriors early in the game. Brookwood jumped out to a 12-1 lead in the first quarter and kept it rolling through the second. The score at halftime was 26-3
Brookwood was efficient from outside the arc, scoring a handful of three-pointers that increased the Lady Warriors lead and made it difficult for the Lady Cougars to build momentum.
The Lady Cougars came out of halftime with more life. The team scored over three-fourths of their total points in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough to push them to a win. The game ended with a final score of 52-13
The Lady Cougars travel to Tallahassee School of Math and Science next. The away matchup tips off at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7.
