Margie Nell Sigman, age 90, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim McIntosh officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel before the service. A Graveside service will follow at El Dorado Baptist Church Cemetery, Tift County, Georgia beginning around 3:45 p.m. with Fred Simonton, Lennard DuBose, Tony Boyette, Mike Hughes, Taylor Hughes and Bailey Hughes serving as active pallbearers and Pastor Danny Culpepper officiating. Margie was born December 18, 1932, in Morven, Georgia the daughter of Lennard Moreland DuBose and Nell Beangard DuBose. She graduated from Fort White High School in Fort White, FL with the class of 1953. After over 20 years of dedication, Margie retired from the Bainbridge Memorial Hospital’s Dietary Department. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bainbridge and served her later years at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Margie got so much enjoyment from gardening and landscaping. She loved flowers, she had beautiful trumpet trees and took great pride in her flowers. She also loved to cook and was eager to try new recipes. Two of her favorite things to cook were her pecan pies and dressing. Her family says she made the best dressing in the world. Margie was a devoted Christian. She spent countless hours reading her Bible, watching Billy Graham, and doing her daily devotionals until her vision would not allow it anymore. She loved her family very much and was completely devoted to her grandchildren. Margie passed away with her unwavering Faith still intact and a devotion to God that her family will never forget.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Alice Simonton (Fred) of Gainesville, GA; granddaughters, Samantha Simonton and Diamond Sigman; great- granddaughter, Hannah Sigman; sisters, Betty Folsom and Ann Sparkman (Glenn); special family friend, Alice Vann; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sigman; son, Richard Harold “Ricky” Sigman; parents; siblings, Douglas Wayne DuBose and Joyce Holmes.
