Memorial Hospital and Manor recently recognized nurse Mattie Dunn as their DAISY Award recipient for the fourth quarter of 2023. A nurse in the hospital’s Labor and Delivery Department, one of Dunn’s patients praised her work, saying, “Mattie volunteered to stay and be my nurse after already working all night. She was an amazing nurse, stayed by my side through the whole process, and explained everything that was going on. She answered every question flawlessly, eased every worry, and helped more than I could have hoped for. We are so thankful that Mattie was our nurse.”

According to Memorial Hospital, DAISY Award recipients “demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and compassionate care” and “are recognized as role models in our nursing community”.

“Thank you Mattie for being there for this and every patient you work with. You are an integral part of our Labor and Delivery Department! Please join us in congratulating Mattie Dunn!” Memorial’s Director of Development, Jamie Sinko, said in a statement.
