Hi, I’m Lorenda Smith. I grew up in Thomasville, GA, and graduated from a Christian school. I began my banking career there and found my passion. As the SVP of Marketing & Retail for First National Bank, I promote the bank through all forms of advertising, and I support those who serve our customers. I love my FNB Family and what I do. We have four locations, so I travel frequently. I also oversee the bank’s Travel Club. I have visited most of the USA and traveled abroad. I genuinely enjoy spending time with those who travel with us. Twenty-one years ago, I married my best friend, Guy Smith, a BEARCATS through and through. Together, we have five wonderful children and ten grandchildren. Five boys and five girls. Two sets of twin girls. We are members of First Baptist Church, a fellowship we love. I serve on the Finance Committee and First Impressions Team. I also serve as the vice president of the Firehouse Art Center; I love to sing, and the arts are certainly a passion of mine.

Five years ago, we moved from Pelham, GA., to Bainbridge after a health scare with Guy and to be closer to my job. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with Bainbridge. We enjoy being close to Guy’s brothers and our Sunday lunches at Southwind.

Growing up in Thomasville and with most of my family still living there, we frequently visited restaurants and stores where many of my childhood friends owned businesses.

However, as a Bainbridge resident now, I tell my friends and Family that Bainbridge reminds me of home. Our restaurants and shops are second to none. If you come to visit me, everyone knows I will treat you to The American for lunch. Marie Livingston’s in Tallahassee was a treat growing up, and now we have Susie and Sams in Bainbridge. If something is happening, like festivals or second Saturdays on the square, you will find us on our golf cart scooting around and enjoying every minute. We live close to Chason Park, and our Grands love it, not to mention the beautiful Flint, where boating and tubing during the warmer weather ensure family visits.

Just like Thomasville, all may not be Roses, but I am grateful for how this community has welcomed me, and I praise The Lord daily for my new hometown.
