One Lady Cougar and three Cougar basketball players received All-Region honors for the 2023-2024 season.
Junior guard Chloe Brogdon earned an All-Region distinction for the Lady Cougars. Junior forward Keith Eidson, junior guard Owen Earnest and senior guard Ben Faircloth were named All-Region players for the Cougars
Brogdon was the backbone of the Lady Cougars this season. She led the squad in points, rebounds and assists per game and shot a team-high 31% from the field. She was also the team’s main shooter with 268 attempted field goals, more than double the amount of the second-place player.
Lady Cougars’ head coach Kelsey Harrell said she could lean on Brogdon when games got tight.
“In a do-or-die situation, it’s get the ball to Chloe,” Harrell said. “Put it in her hands and just let her drive to the basket. She’s not afraid of contact. She’s just a really good, all-around athlete.”
Faircloth was the Cougars team leader and sole senior. Earnest and Eidson both had career-high scoring nights this season. Earnest scored 27 points against Citizens Leadership Academy, and Eidson scored 28 points against Highland Christian Academy.
