On February 27th, the Bainbridge Middle School Concert Band along with the Bainbridge High School Concert Band, and Bainbridge High School Symphonic Band, participated in the Georgia Bandmaster’s Association Concert Band Festival held at the Kirbo Center.
Each group selected three pieces of music and were critiqued by three adjudicators from Alabama and Georgia. Mr. Sewell equates this as our state evaluation.
Band Festival shows areas where we are doing well and areas that might need improvement. Ensembles are rated with 1-Superior (highest score available), 2-excellent, 3-good etc. All three ensembles earned superior ratings.
This marks 39 years in a row that our program has performed at this level of excellence. Mr. Sewell stated that he is proud of all the students and their dedication to putting on the best performance possible.
He would also like to thank our school administration and school board members for all their continued support of our program and our students. We are truly blessed with some of the best students Decatur County Schools has to offer.
