Members of the Bainbridge Rotary Club met for their weekly meeting at the Kirbo Center on Tuesday. The speaker for the day was Jim Glass, Southern Regional Technical College president.
Glass introduced various members of the SRTC administration to the Rotary Club, as well as the school’s GOAL student, Armani Miller. Miller briefly spoke to the club about how she previously considered college out of reach, and how a personal health issue ended up inspiring her to pursue a career radiology.
“Once I graduate, I will do so debt-free, career-ready, and I won’t have to scramble for employment,” she said.
Glass went on to show several videos to the club, further detailing SRTC’s programs, and discussed various statistics, including graduation rates and the college’s recent record-breaking fall enrollment. Glass also stated that the school was “on track” to set a record for total enrollment this year.
“We have become the number one choice, rather than the secondary choice,” he said, “and that makes us really, really proud.”
Following his presentation, Glass took questions from the audience, and the meeting was adjourned.
