Bearcat Family!

I hope this message finds you all well and that you are preparing for the upcoming weekend, especially with the excitement of prom. It’s a special time for the Class of 2024, and we’re all buzzing with anticipation for the annual Promenade, followed by a night filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.

This week at Bainbridge High School has been nothing short of amazing, and I’m thrilled to share some of the highlights that made us all a little prouder to be a Bearcat.

Staff and Student Recognitions

  • Congratulations to BHS Art Teacher Ms. Rebecca Cole, Teacher of the Month, and Ms. Teresa Toliver, our Busy B of the Month. Both of your commitment to excellence does not go unnoticed.
  • BHS Students of the Month include Anna Carnes, Lawren Love, Joceline Acosta, Miracle Jones, John Graham Beckham, and Jha’Bria Anderson. Congratulations to each of you!
  • A special thank you goes to Ms. Monica Close, who found a sponsor and brought smiles and popcorn to our staff this week! Thank you for your thoughtfulness!

This week, the Anchor Club teamed up with local law enforcement to promote prom safety. A special thank you to Anchor members, President Mackenzie Antis, and everyone involved in making sure our celebration was not just fun but safe.

 

Academics

  • BHS AP Chemistry students dived into the world of chemical kinetics, showing us the power of curiosity and experimentation.
  • A special shoutout to our guidance counselors, who have been working tirelessly to ensure that every BHS student is perfectly aligned with their Bearcat+1 for the upcoming school year.
  • Congratulations to all of the students who dominated at the REGIONAL GA STC Tech Competition, especially Hunter Black and Richard Black, for their spectacular achievements in Robotics at the state level in Henry County.

Congratulations to the Parliamentary Procedure LDE team, which placed second at the Area 5 LDE and qualified for the State Competition! Team members are Carson Lynn, Jayden Brown, Elizabeth Adams, Tristian Harvell, Addison Cook, and Kell Donalson.

In the arts, Kenton Jordan and Jemiya Campbell represented our Bainbridge High School in Atlanta last week at the state capitol. Their art was selected from our area to be showcased for all the state to enjoy! The students were introduced and talked to Georgia Department of Education State School Superintendent Richard Woods. Mr. Woods praised the Bainbridge High School art program for coming from Bainbridge. Students were given an award for their hard work.

 

Athletics

  • The Lady Cats hosted a Softball Clinic for all Recreation-age players this week. We had over 90 kids attend. The Lady Cats softball players and coaches coached them on fielding, throwing, catching, pitching, and hitting. This week showed that the future is bright for Lady Cat Softball in Bainbridge. The Lady Cats organized a softball clinic for all Recreation-age players this week. More than 90 kids attended the event. During the clinic, the Lady Cats softball players and coaches taught the kids the skills of fielding, throwing, catching, pitching, and hitting. The successful event indicated a bright future for Lady Cat Softball in Bainbridge.
  • The Bearcat Golf recently played in the Trojan Invitational and Panther Invitational. The Boys placed 7th in the Trojan Invitational and 3rd in the Panther Invitational, while the Girls also placed 7th in the Trojan Invitational.
  • The Gym Cats, led by Captain Anniston Brown and Co-Captain Dhara Petal, dazzled us with their skills and brought home victory.
  • Congratulations to the undefeated Lady Cats and Bearcat Tennis Teams. As the top seed, they are ready to host the Region 1-AAAA Championship.
  • The Bearcat Baseball Team is on a winning streak, currently leading in Region 1-AAAA winning the last 6 of 7 games.

 

As we wrap up this week and enter prom weekend, I wish you all a time filled with joy, safety, and memories that will last a lifetime.
