Bainbridge residents have been asking for years for a wider variety of restaurants in town. There have been some new additions that have answered those wishes, including Ono Kine Local Grindz and Ritho Caribbean Spot. For those wanting a sub sandwich, local options have been limited, but not anymore, with the opening of Firehouse Subs late last month.
The Post-Searchlight spoke to the owner of the Bainbridge location, Chris Fabozzi, for more information about the decision to set up shop in Bainbridge. Fabozzi also owns a Firehouse location in Valdosta; when asked about setting up in Bainbridge, he said, “Bainbridge is a great location close to my hometown of Tallahassee.”
When asked about the community reception, Fabozzi said, “The public turnout has been great and has exceeded our expectations.” He added, “I am grateful for the community support.”
Firehouse Subs is a brand that is known for its support of first responders and EMS services. When asked about helping local law enforcement, Fabozzi stated, “Firehouse Subs has donated over $4.2 million to firefighters across Georgia as of the end of 2023. I am looking forward to seeing money we collect at Bainbridge going towards new equipment and items that are needed in Decatur County.”
Fabozzi concluded saying, “I appreciate the support Bainbridge has shown and I am excited about giving back to the community and contributing to the Decatur County Firefighters.”
Firehouse Subs is located at 1408 Tallahassee Highway, between Gamestop and Beef O’Brady’s.
