Kenneth Willis Faircloth was born January 23, 1943, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Charlie & Viola Smith Faircloth. He attended Bainbridge High School. In 1959, he married Lynell Whitfield, and they made their home in the Mt. Pleasant Community. Kenneth was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and served both Delwood and Mt. Pleasant joyfully through the years.
From an early age, Kenneth was fascinated with cars, trucks, and tractors. He had a knack for making things run and sometimes even better than they did brand new. His knowledge of farm equipment was unrivaled in Southwest Georgia, and he was well known for his meticulous repairs and restoration. Kenneth began his career at Woodberry Tractor then opened his own tractor dealership for International Tractor in the 70s. During the 80s, he decided to farm but continued to work on tractors and trucks. In 1987, he opened A-1 Auto where he repaired vehicles, restored tractors, and replayed stories from days gone by with his friends who were also his customers. Drag racing and fast cars, especially that black & white Dodge Ram Charger, were often topics of conversation with the good ol’ boys.
Survivors include his children, Craig & Carolyn Faircloth of Thomasville and Mark & Deon Faircloth of Brinson; his daughter-in-law, June Faircloth; his grandchildren, Jeremy & Ashley, Casey & Heidi, Melissa & Rick, Christina, Michelle & Brent, and Miranda & Jamie; his great-grandchildren, Chloe, Toby, Jacob, Caroline, Kady, Ella, Mary Claire, Chloe, Adleigh, Hayden, and Avery; and his great-great-grandson, Noah. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Lynell Whitfield Faircloth; his son, Jeff Faircloth; and his grandson, Dylan Reid Faircloth.
