Johnnie Lee Hager, 72, of Recovery, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024.

Johnnie Lee Hager was born December 19, 1951, in Bluefield, WV, the son of John & Helen Wimmer Hager. He was a graduate of Bluefield High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Johnnie moved to Southwest Georgia in 1988 and never looked back. He was a Christian by faith.

Though Johnnie spent his days on the road as a truck driver, home was where his heart was. Knox and Blakely had him wrapped around their little fingers, and he looked forward to his weekly dinners with them.

After being cooped up in the truck, Johnnie thoroughly enjoyed time outside. Fishing was a favorite pastime, and if the fish weren’t biting, you would find him in the shop piddling with his woodwork. He noted the craftmanship on everything, especially with his collection of knives.

Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Samantha & Justin Palmer, and his grandchildren, Knox and Blakely. Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents.
