Bronwood Lamar Maxwell was born December 12, 1946, in Mitchell County, GA, the son of Clifford B., Sr. and Mattie Crowe Maxwell. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and later worked at BASF until his retirement. Lamar married Taresa Maxwell who made sure his ducks were always in a row. He served his community as a volunteer firefighter and as a councilman for the City of Attapulgus. Lamar was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Lamar was the perfect sidekick to Taresa. His level head balanced her quick wit. He knew all about Attapulgus and all about the citizens. He kept a bead on the happenings, always offering a helping hand. For pleasure, Lamar enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling.
Survivors include his siblings, Alberta Calhoun, Clifford B. Maxwell, Jr., Nora Kaye Ramer, Myra E. Roberts, Sue Ellen Dapsi, Donald Hugh Maxwell, Kimberly Lane, Linda Johns, James William Maxwell, Edith Jeanette Lewis, and Danny Lavon Maxwell; as well as a host of extended family. In addition to his parents, Lamar was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Taresa Jean Maxwell; and his siblings, Edna Faye Colvin, Ernest Eugene Maxwell, Harry L. Maxwell, and Lynwood Maxwell.
