Pamela Jane Cross, age 67, of Vada passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in Albany, Georgia.  Pam was born on November 18, 1956, the eldest daughter of Alton Cross and Betty Jane Davis Cross.  She was a 1974 graduate of Bainbridge Christian Academy and attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  Pam graduated from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Georgia, with a degree in art. She taught art for over three decades primarily at Bainbridge High School.  Pam was an avid traveler and a clothes fanatic and loved her shopping days.

After retirement in 2014, Pam struggled with her health but was resilient and strong with a determined attitude towards life.  Pam’s legacy left in her students and family was her footprint in life.  Pam found a true friend named Stephen Tucker who became her caregiver.  He was a gift of God going far beyond what a typical neighbor would do.  The family realizes that God’s grace and sufficiency brought Stephen into Pam’s life.  To witness God’s sovereignty by watching over His children is amazing.  A special thanks also goes to Tabby Minchew and April Ward-Prescott.

Survivors include Pam’s sisters, Mollie Renee Cross of Vada and Rhonda Denise Cross Jarrett and her husband, Kenneth Warren Jarrett, of Sylvester, Georgia as well as her four-legged companions, Pickles and Le (Little Edna). Pam was predeceased by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, Pam has requested that gifts be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, 5008 Vada Road, Climax, Georgia 39834 or to a non-kill humane society.  Memorial service plans will be announced by the family at a later date.
