The Bainbridge Bearcats sadly fell to Colquitt County, 43-7, in last Friday’s scrimmage game. “It proved we have a lot of work to do,” head coach Jay Walls told the Post-Searchlight. This was a fact Walls had been stating during practice leading up to Friday’s game.
“We’ve gotta get better at basic fundamentals, blocking, tackling,” he said. “And we will.”
The Bearcats will not play this Friday, but will instead hold their fan day at Centennial Stadium, beginning at 5:00 PM. Attendees are asked to bring Oxiclean powder detergent to the event.
The team will be facing off against Coffee County at home next week. Walls is already preparing the boys for the upcoming game. “We’re starting to work on Coffee this week,” he said. “It’s certainly a big test, as far as a season opener.”
