First Port City Bank held a Chamber ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new Eastside Express drive-thru branch on Friday morning, with a sizeable crowd attending.
“We’re really excited to be able to open this new branch and offer some more convenience to our customers and people on this side of town,” First Port City President and CEO Scott Ewing said. “We’re really excited about all the things that are going on here, Rural King, Publix… just a lot of good things going on.”
Chamber of Commerce President Karen Tobin also spoke at the event. “We love to see that investment in Bainbridge,” she said to Ewing. “It’s just a great, great place to be. I keep saying that, this is an amazing time to be a part of Bainbridge.”
When speaking with the Post-Searchlight, Ewing stated that he had been eyeing the new location “for quite a while”, and that the arrival of Rural King next door contributed to the decision. “There’s a lot of large employers, a lot of traffic, schools on this side of town. We really wanted to be over here and offer that to people on this side of town.”
