Decatur County Commissioners discuss 5311 Program resolution, property purchase at Tuesday meeting

The Decatur County Commissioners met for their first meeting of the month on Tuesday morning. Following the invocation and the pledge, the commissioners approved the agenda, as well as the minutes from last month’s meeting.
The first item of new business was a consideration of a resolution involving the 5311 Program. According to County Administrator Alan Thomas, it was a request for funds under the 5311 Program, which provides regional rural public transportation. The commissioners voted to approve the resolution.
The next item on the agenda was the approval of a property purchase, specifically parcels of land adjacent to the airport. The commissioners voted to approve the purchase.
Last on the new business items was a restaurant license application, submitted by Annie Jean Richardson for S&J Dining and Catering. The commissioners approved the application.
The commissioners gave their closing remarks, and the meeting was adjourned.
