On November 9, the Mardi Gras Society of SWGA will hold a Rouxlin on the River Gumbo and Brunswick Stew Competition at the Earle May Boat Basin. It’s a community event with many activities to choose from. There will be live music by Baby Gray, a local watering hole, bounce houses, obstacle courses, ax throwing, cornhole competition, classic car shows, and many more fun activities.
Additionally, there’s the money prize Gumbo & Brunswick Stew competition. To enter the competitions, you must gather a team of four. Teams are encouraged to decorate their tents, fun and festive. Teams can also get a business to sponsor their sign-up or ingredient fee. There will also be a VIP section. The section comes with a covered area with tables and chairs located close to the live music and the Old Post Office. You can get $10 in Gumbo and/or Brunswick Stew tasting tickets, two drink tickets for the Old Post Office, regular drinks, and desserts are included. There are only 50 tickets available.
If you want to show off your cooking skills or have a comfortable area to watch the event, go sign-up and purchase your tickets at mgsswg.com.
