Linda Sue Cox was born March 18, 1937, in Louisville, KY, the daughter of John & Flora Hess Cox. She was a graduate of Valley High School in Louisville and the University of Louisville where she earned a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. Following stints in Nashville, TN and Sebring, FL, Linda made Bainbridge her home in 1970. She retired from Miller-Griffin Realty where she encountered hundreds of people who became dear friends. Linda was a member of Bainbridge First Methodist Church where she spent many years as a member of the handbell choir.

Linda was always a classy lady with a soft smile that exuded confidence. She loved to dance and spent many Tuesday nights at the American Legion and Friday nights at the Moose Lodge. Bridge Club was as much about playing cards as it was about sustaining long-term friendships, and she did not miss this weekly date.

Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. Fall Saturdays in the South included cheering on the Florida State Seminoles. Mexico Beach was a special place for family and friends, so Linda started a Thanksgiving tradition of spending it there enjoying the sand and surf. She was proficient in the kitchen and made Christmas extra special with gingerbread houses. For those that think Linda would never get dirty, you might be surprised to know she loved gardening and fishing; she even made Jack a worm bed so they would never be without fresh bait.

Survivors include her husband of almost 16 years, Keith E. Kerper; her children, Nancy Zilis Boomer (Ron Pry) of Tallahassee, FL and Jack Zilis (Kim) of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Joe, Elise, Laura & Darrell, and Leah; her great-grandchildren, John, Jacob, Colton, and Paisley; her sister-in-law, Bobbie Ann Cox; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, John R. Cox.
