The Bainbridge Rotary Club met for their weekly meeting at the Kirbo Center on Tuesday. The guest speaker of the day was Downtown Development Authority Director Amanda Glover. She briefly spoke on Bainbridge receiving the Downtown of the Year Award, saying, “It is with immense pride and joy our community celebrates being named Downtown of the Year. It’s more than just an award, it’s a testament of everybody’s dedication and the resilience of our community, and the effort and the commitment we put into it.”
Glover went on to discuss some of the downtown statistics for the past fiscal year; this included 11 new businesses netted, as well as 50 new jobs. Additionally, five new buildings were rehabilitated, with an investment of over $6.4 million, and 14 residential units were also added.
Glover would go on to tell the club about several events coming up downtown, and answered several Rotarian’s questions to close the meeting.
