USTA Combo State Championships held in Bainbridge

On October 19, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Combo State Championships took place at the Bainbridge Decatur County Recreation Authority. The USTA Combo State Championship is governed by the United States Tennis Association. It is a competition where different age groups have leagues throughout the states. It provide opportunity to compete in doubles with players of different levels. “So, Bainbridge is a Fling River league. The champions of all these leagues come together once a year to advance to another level so they have what they define as State Championships.” Mark Gonzales, Rec Authority Tennis Director, explained. Applicant from around the state come to the Bainbridge Decatur County Recreation Authority because of “the tennis facility, and it’s an added bonus to have a park, and a wreck authority that has beautiful ball fields, gymnasium, and pickleball court. It’s also inexpensive and has available accessibility.”
Additionally, there’s a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) Tournament that takes place at the Recreation Center tennis court on November 23. The tournament rates players on objective, consistent, and accurate index of player skills. Many players come out and play against competitors on their level or above.
