Friday morning, DCBOE held a “Biscuits for the Best” event for Bainbridge High School teachers.

“Biscuits for the Best” is a monthly event that recognizes one school of Decatur County teachers for their amazing work. Teacher Appreciation isn’t until May, but that’s the end of the school year so “Biscuits for the Best” is the next best thing for Teacher Appreciation.

Teachers are constantly busy teaching and helping students so they have to do a quick “Grab and Go” for the event. There are also a variety of sponsors who express their appreciation to teachers. Last month, Bainbridge Middle School was recognized and DCBOE sponsored the event. This month, Bainbridge High School is in the spotlight and First Port City Bank sponsored the event. Cathi Galpin, Marketing Director for First Port City Bank, exclaimed, “First Port City Bank was excited to sponsor “Biscuits for the Best” at Bainbridge High School.  As a community bank, First Port City Bank is a huge supporter of our community, especially the school system.  Teachers are so important to our children and their families and we want to support them in any way possible.  We are honored to have this opportunity to show our appreciation by serving our Bainbridge High School teachers breakfast to get their day started off right. We loved seeing the smile on their faces early that morning.  We thank them for all they do as they truly are “The BEST!” The biscuits are provided by Three Squares Diner.”

Ana Baty, Director of Public Relations at DCBOE, coordinated the event. She stated, “Biscuits for the Best is a monthly Teacher Appreciation initiative introduced by Decatur County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Boyd English. While Teacher Appreciation Day is traditionally celebrated in May, we have taken a more personalized approach by visiting one school each month to recognize their faculty and staff. This initiative is further supported by community partners like First Port City Bank, who contribute to expressing gratitude to educators in our community. We would also like to recognize our upcoming sponsors First State Bank, Sunstop, and First National Bank. Thank you for your unwavering support of education in our community.”
