Since the beginning of October, Grace Christian Academy (GCA) is hosting a fundraiser selling Rada Cutlery’s made kitchen products to raise money for the music and art department.
Derived directly from their website, “Rada Cutlery is a family-owned business in Iowa that sources materials from U.S. suppliers and repurposed those materials and manufactured aluminum handled kitchen knives. Their mission involves providing American made cutlery.”
Wendi Newberry Bloodsworth is a parent Coordinator of GCA and Grans Club. The Grans Club is made up of a group of grandparents of students from GCA. Bloodsworth stated they decided to do the fundraiser for GCA because “grandparents are an integral and important part of a child’s support system. We are blessed with the opportunity to be involved in the daily lives of our grandchildren who attend Grace Christian Academy. The club provides support and services to the Cougar family.” She continued. “I personally believe that grandparents can be role models, teachers and provide unconditional love for a child. Grandparents provide additional nurturing to the student, the parent, and the classroom in so many ways. The identity of a child can be strengthened by learning culture, religion, family tradition and social skills that are all taught by a grandparent.”
The fundraiser will be a year long opportunity for people and families to browse and buy.
Additionally, GCA is holding a WInterFest event that will be on December 3. The event is the school’s largest fundraiser and invites are for the entire community. There will be a silent and live auction, student artwork, various food trucks and more. Wristbands for rides are $25, and they can be bought at the front office. The Grans Club is also holding a new fundraiser called Gift Card Raffle that’s December 13. For the event, tickets can be purchased for $5 or 5 for $20 from a Grans Club member.
To support the GCA school, Bloodsworth stated, “there are many ways to do that starting with prayer. Our faculty, staff, parents, and students are excited about what God has planned for our future and the future of Grace Christian Academy.”
