With the weather cooling, the BHS Swim Cats took the plunge last Thursday in their first meet of the season. The team went up against Thomas County Central, with the local YMCA providing their indoor pool for the meet.

While the girl’s team would defeat TCC, the boys unfortunately fell short. However, the Bearcats still won thanks to the combined score. There were three first-place finishers among both teams: Allee Grace Dickson came in first in the 200m freestyle (247.56) and in the 500m freestyle (7:34.07). Dawson Cottles came in first in the 100m freestyle (1:01.20), and Gambler Dollar came in first in the 100m butterfly (130.93).

“I am very excited for this team,” said Coach Eric Conner. “We have a very good group of young swimmers that work hard and they love competition.”
