The Bainbridge Ministerial Association sponsors city-wide Holy Week services each year.

The services are Monday through Friday and include a luncheon, special music and a short message. The cost is $3 and the luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m. The service ends at 12:45 p.m. and care is taken so that those who work can get back in a timely fashion.

On Monday, April 6, the service is at First United Methodist’s J.O. Smith Building with First United Methodist Church serving as the host.

Sutton Chapel and First Christian will host on Tuesday at the J.O. Smith Building.

Wednesday’s luncheon will be held at the social hall of First Presbyterian and will be hosted by First Presbyterian and St. Joseph’s Catholic.

Thursday’s service will be at the First Baptist Church and they will be joined by West Bainbridge United Methodist Church as hosts.

Friday’s service will be at the Independent Street Church of God. All people are invited to each day’s services.

In addition the Holy Week luncheons, there are other special services offered during the week.

First United Methodist Church will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. in their sanctuary, and First Christian will host a Good Friday service at 7:00 p.m.

St. John’s Episcopal will offer 6 p.m. services on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. An Easter vigil will be observed there on Saturday evening at 8:30.

Holy Week Campmeeting

The Mount Pleasant community will be hosting a tent revival during Holy Week.

The services will begin on Sunday evening, April 5, at 7 and will run throughout the week with each night’s service beginning at 7.

There will also be a concert by The Lighthouse Children’s Home on Saturday with hamburgers and hot dogs served prior to the concert. The refreshments will be free and will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the Children’s Home singing and witnessing.

The Campmeeting services will end with a sunrise service at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday morning.

The services during the week will feature different preachers and special singing each night, along with congregational singing.
