U.S. Army Pvt. 1st Class Donnie W. McLendon graduated from basic training on Feb. 13, 2009, at Fort Benning, Ga. During his 14 weeks of training, the soldier studied physical fitness and received instructions and practice in basic skills, military weapons, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle, marksmanship, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, and field training exercises. He graduated in the Private First Class Charlie 2-58, 4 Platoon and 3rd Infantry Division. He is stationed in Fort Stewart, Ga. Mr. McLendon is married to Jennifer C. McLendon. Together, they have a son and a daughter. Pvt. 1st Class McLendon is the son of Kenneth and Patricia McLendon. He has one brother, Shawn McLendon. His grandparents are Jean Sadler, and Randall and Janell Williams. He is a 2006 graduate of Bainbridge High School.
