Some beautiful prizes are being given away in this great Mother’s Day raffle.

The tickets are only $3 each or two for $5. There are more than 20 prizes to be won.

Everything from tanning and massage packages to a Pandora bracelet with a retail value of more than $200.

If you don’t know a senior, call the center or during April, we will be at some of the stores in town on Saturdays selling tickets. The drawing is May 6 just in time for Mother’s Day and you need not be present to win, we will call you. Any questions call the center.

Our condolences go to the Bill Baker family. Mr. Baker passed away last week, and the folks at our center will miss him. We always enjoyed Mr. Bill and Ms. Vera at the center and especially at our dances. They never missed one and were usually the first on the floor to dance the evening away. To the family, know that we loved Mr. Bill.

We’re glad to see Ms. Daisy back.

We’re hoping that Ms. Ruthie Burgess will be back with us soon. We love you Ms. Ruthie and miss you terribly. Hello to Ms. Doris too and your chair is still waiting.

A belated thanks you but no less sincere thanks and our appreciation to Mr. James Cottington and his crew for painting our office and the kitchen repairs that they did. Of course, Mr. James you know we always appreciate what you and your boys do.

Our menu for this week subject to change is as follows:

Monday—Hot dogs with chili, baked beans, cole slaw and fruit cobbler

Tuesday—Chicken rice casserole, broccoli, Harvard beets and corn muffin

Wednesday—Country fried steak with mushroom gravy, cream potatoes, and marinated carrots

Thursday—Smothered chicken, black-eyed peas, collard greens, Jell-O

Friday—Spaghetti with meat balls, tossed salad, corn and Texas toast
