Francis James Rentz and Patrice Hall Rentz of Bainbridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Suzanne Rentz, to Jeb Tallant Schrenk of New Orleans, La.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Chason Rentz of Jesup, Ga., the late Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Hall, and the late Susie Bedell Rentz.

She is a 1995 graduate of Bainbridge High School and graduated in 1999 from the University of Georgia with a degree in biochemistry. She is employed at the University of South Alabama.

The groom-to-be is the son of George Edmund Schrenk and Kathleen Tallant Schrenk of New Orleans, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Winfred Tallant, and the late Mrs. and Mrs. George Staehle Schrenk.

He graduated in 1993 from Jesuit High School and from the University of Alabama in 1997 with a degree in journalism. He is self-employed.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 8 at 3:30 p.m. at the Inn on Town Creek, Abingdon, Va.
