Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA sports director Jeremy Pollock talked during a Wednesday address to the Bainbridge Lions Club about the many positive things the YMCA has to offer.
“We are currently involved in our youth basketball program,” said Pollock, a former Bainbridge High School Bearcats pitcher who was on a national championship baseball team at Columbus State University.
“Games are on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and YMCA CEO and I referee the games.” Pollock said “Seeing how much the little 4- and 5-year-olds enjoy themselves is very rewarding. The little ones don’t always understand what they are supposed to do on the court, but they have a good time.”
Pollock continued his comments by talking about a couple of the newer facilities that are available to YMCA members.
“We have a half-mile rubberized outdoor walking track that was opened this past winter,” he said. “It is enjoyed by a lot of people. We also have an indoor therapy pool that was opened this past December. It is used by our water aerobics classes and the water is kept very warm.”
