Tigers lose 47-41

The Hutto eighth-grade Tigers dropped a 47-41 decision to the Thomas County Central eighth-grade Yellow Jackets Monday, highlighting the final varsity sports game at Hutto Middle School’s Bynes-Greenlee Gymnasium.
In the girls game, the Lady Tigers fell behind at the end of the first quarter 13-3, and eventually lost 47-16.
Next year, when Bainbridge High School moves to their new campus, seventh- and eighth-graders and varsity middle school sports will be at Bainbridge Middle School on the current Bainbridge High School campus.
The Hutto campus will be made up of fifth- and sixth-graders.
The Tigers went ahead of the Yellow Jackets 38-36 when Mike Stubbs hit a layup off the right glass with 2:28 remaining in the game.
The Yellow Jackets bounced back to outscore them 11-3 down the stretch and pull out a 47-41 victory.
Leading the way for the Tigers was Tevin McKay with 14 points. Chris Madge and Carlos Hughes put in 7 apiece, Aguviaus Carol scored 6, Stubbs scored 4, Stephen Johnson scored 2 and James McClain scored 1.
The Lady Tigers were paced by Kristen Baldwin with 6. Diamond Ross scored 4 and Tierra Adams, Jasmine Sheffield and Brandi Anthony all put in 2.
