The dream

With emotions too hard to describe, people across America realized a dream Tuesday—a dream that the United States is one.
We as Americans should collectively celebrate these past two days marking Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream and the inauguration of President Obama.
History was made and it was an accomplishment for all Americans.
And as Obama said in his inaugural speech Tuesday, “For everywhere we look, there is work to be done.”
The spirit that brought out record numbers of new voters, a record number of people to travel to Washington, D.C., to see “history in the making,” we must now turn a page within ourselves and take heed of Obama’s words.
“What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility—a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation and the world; duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.
“This is the price and the promise of citizenship.”
Take Obama’s words, put them in your heart, and don’t forget these past two days.
