Two masked men robbed a local convenience store at gunpoint Monday night.

At 10 p.m., E-911 received a security alarm from the Quick Buys Convenience Store at 167 Whigham Dairy Road. Moments later, they received a call from the store’s clerk reporting two masked men had stolen the store’s money at gunpoint.

Bainbridge Public Safety officers as well as Decatur County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and began canvassing the area searching for the two robbers, who witnesses said fled on foot.

The clerk told police two men entered the store wearing black clothing, blue jeans and ski masks. She said one of the men held a semi-automatic pistol in her back, telling her to open the store’s safe. The other, apparently unarmed, instructed the four customers in the store to get on the floor, taking one of their cell phones.

The men made off with an undetermined amount of money from the safe.

One witness reported seeing the two men flee from the store running west on MLK Drive.

This is the second convenience store robbery to occur in Bainbridge in less than a week.

Mr. Pip’s was robbed on Nov. 27 shortly before 2 a.m. by a white male with a knife. Sheriff’s investigators arrested Charlie Railford Toliver Jr., 43, 263 Brinson Airbase Road, Bainbridge, on Friday in connection with the Mr. Pip’s robbery charging him with armed robbery.
