Lavon Green

A funeral service for Lavon Green, 64, of Bainbridge, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Christian Faith Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ron Kirkland officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Tony Green, Derrick Baker, Brandon Conner, Travis Green, Buddy Hoskins, Greg Green and Brock Green serving as active pallbearers.

Born Oct. 28, 1944, in Bainbridge, Mr. Green died on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Green served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was a truck driver and attended Christian Faith Church.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Grady Green, Luther Green, Riley Green, Wayne Green and Paul Green; a sister, Ruby Green Cross; and a grandson, Joshua Lavon Conner.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Maxine White Green of Bainbridge; two sons, Michael Lavon Green and Tony Green, both of Bainbridge; three daughters, Michelle G. Montgomery of Donalsonville, Lori G. Conner and Felecia G. McManus, both of Bainbridge; a brother, Herbert Green of Camilla, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
