Funeral services for Jessie Washington Bush, 88, of Attapulgus, were held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Emanuel M.B. Church in Fowlstown with the Rev. John Thomas officiating.
Interment followed at Pineview Cemetery in Bainbridge with Torrey Miller, Willie C. Miller, Willie Frank Miller, Ralph Moore, Brian Morgan and J.T. Morgan serving as active pallbearers.
Born Jan. 1, 1921, in Miller County, Ga., Mr. Bush died on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge.
Mr. Bush was a member of Emanuel M.B. Church and sang in its choir. He enjoyed gardening and growing produce.
He was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Helen Johnson Bush; and two sons, Jessie Bernard Bush and Henry Nelson Bush.
Survivors include his five daughters, Annie Doris Rudolph of New York, Juanita Miller of Bainbridge, Mary Cash of Columbia, S.C., Ellen Morgan of Colquitt, Ga., and Geraldine Peterson of Attapulgus; three sons, William Bush of Savannah, Ga., Milton Bush of Kuwait and Michael Bush of Bainbridge; a brother, Henry Lee Bush; a devoted friend, Louise Alexander of Bainbridge; 32 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
