Graveside funeral services for Ida “Betty” M. Allen, 71, of Hilliard, Fla., were held Friday, July 24, at Riverside Memorial Park, 1620 Riverside Avenue in Jacksonville, Fla.

Born Sept. 19, 1937, in Jesup, Ga., Mrs. Allen died on Thursday, July 16, 2009, in Jacksonville, Fla.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth “Al” Allen Sr.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Lee Edmonds; two daughters, Deborah Lynn Hall and Nannette E. Heard; a sister, Betty J. Gordy; a brother, Lawton R. Strickland; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Fla., is in charge of funeral arrangements.
