Ethel Ellrod

Funeral services for Ethel Ann Gunn Ellrod, 58, of Marianna, Fla., will on Saturday, June 27, at 11 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. David Grubbs officiating.
Interment will follow at the Nazarene Church Cemetery with Lex D. Parish, Terry Jennings, Steven Grubbs, Donny Bolding Jr., Nicholas Wright and Ryan Grubbs as active pallbearers. James Grubbs, Dylan Grubbs, Dallas Grubs and Christopher Grubbs will be honorary pallbearers.
Born on Jan. 2, 1951, in Early County, Ga., Mrs. Ellrod died on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.
Mrs. Ellrod moved from Decatur County to Statesboro, Ga., 28 years ago and then to Marianna, Fla., where she has resided for the past 18 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Guyton, Ga., and worked as a CNA for six years in Blountstown, Fla. Mrs. Ellrod loved sewing, drawing and writing. Mrs.
Survivors include long-time companion, David Alfonson of Marianna, Fla.; three daughters, Michelle Jones of Raleigh, N.C., Donna Wright and Ronna Lynn Grubbs, both of Brooklet, Ga.; two sons, Donald Grubbs Jr. of Bainbridge and Thomas William Grubbs of Geneva, Ala.; two step-children, Candy Alfonso of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jason Alfonso of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Francine Black of Bainbridge and Mildred of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Gene Gunn and Vernon Gunn, both of Statesboro, Ga.; 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a special uncle, Buddy Carden of Thomasville, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.
