Funeral services for Tony Ray Yates, 48, of Valdosta, Ga., were held Thursday, May 14, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta with the Rev. Bill McCurdy officiating.

Interment followed in the Brinson Cemetery.

Born Dec. 13, 1960, in Bainbridge, Mr. Yates died on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Yates was a truck driver for R.B.I. and attended Greenwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, J. Harold and Betty S. Yates of Bainbridge; a brother, James T. Yates of Valdosta; a sister, Rhonda Kay of Valdosta; former wife, Sue Eatman Taylor of Valdosta; three step-sons, one step-daughter, four step-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Tommy and Becky Ryan of Valdosta.

Carson-McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta was in charge of arrangements.
