George Belcourt

Funeral services for George William Belcourt, 87, of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with President Ryan Cleveland officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be held at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, Conn., with full military honors, on Wednesday, April 29, at 11 a.m.
Born July 29, 1921, in Meriden, Conn., Mr. Belcourt died April 21, 2009, at his residence in Bainbridge.
Mr. Belcourt had lived the past 10 years in Decatur County after moving from Connecticut. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a truck driver and a member of the Retired Teamster Union of Bridgeport, Conn., No. 443 and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs and Warehousers. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Pickett Belcourt; a sister, Doris Brown, and two brothers, Danny Belcourt and Thomas Belcourt.
Survivors include three daughters, June Belcourt of New York City, N.Y., Barbara Guay of Monroe, Conn., and Loretta Barber of Perry, Fla.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
