Funeral services for Bernard Eugene Wilson, 83, of Madison, Fla. were held Monday, April 20, in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home in Madison.
Interment followed at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Born Oct. 12, 1925, in Bainbridge, Ga., Wilson died on Thursday, April 16, in Madison, Fla.
During World War II, Wilson served in the Army Air Corps as a B29 gunner. He was credited with 15 combat missions over Japan. He was assigned on Tinian Island in the Pacific to the 313th Bomb Wing, 6th Bombardment Group, 24th Squadron. After marrying in Bainbridge, he moved to Madison, Fla., as manager of Florida Power Corp. and retired after nearly 40 years and continued to live in Madison. He was very active in his church and in community service.
Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Wilson.
Survivors include two sons, David Wilson of Tallahassee, Fla., and Richard Wilson of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Helen Raines of Dayton, Ohio, and Carolyn Betsy Sasnett of Tallahassee, Fla., five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Beggs Funeral Home in Madison, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
