Funeral services for Cheryl Cooper Akridge, 60, of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dewitt Phillips officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cox-Ware Funeral Home.
Ms. Akridge was born Oct. 2, 1948, in Mitchell County. She died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
She was a member of The Potter’s House Church. She was a homemaker and had worked for the City of Bainbridge until the early 1990s.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky Newman of Bainbridge; two sons, Wayne L. Rogers of Bainbridge and Chad Jones of Macon, Ga.; two sisters, Connie McGinnis of Bainbridge and Dean Cox of Cairo, Ga.; a brother, Kent Akridge of Whigham, Ga.; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several stepbrothers and stepsisters.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
