9/11 Poem

Dear Editor,
I wrote this poem in memory of the Sept. 11, 2011, terrorist attacks, and I thought your readers might enjoy it as well:
“A Day to Pray”
Ten years ago twin towers fell,
In a scene that came from hell.
People worked there every day,
Until terror took their lives away.
But many lived that could have died,
While others had no time to cry.
Now ten years later the pain’s still here,
But God can take away our fears.
For what is life, but just a day?
Things to do and words to say.
Now if you look at times gone by,
See all the tears that you have cried.
Each day we pray for peace and love,
And for God’s blessings from above.
Now pray for those who live in fear,
And that our Lord will draw them near.
Now God could choose to let us fall,
So he can catch us when we call.
So remember the day the towers fell,
But remember that God can make it well.
In loving memory of 9/11/2011.
