Country music fans will be excited to learn that Grammy award winning artist, song-writer and actor, Travis Tritt, has been signed by Desert Wind Films to play the role of “Eddie Waters” in the film “Fishers of Men,” which will begin filming in the Bainbridge area on September 13. Tritt, who was born in Marietta, will be returning to his native Georgia for the filming.
Tritt has also agreed to write a song exclusively for the film’s soundtrack.
Additional casting is nearly complete for the film, according to Desert Wind Films Chief Financial Officer Steven Camp, and the list of major actors being locked in is impressive and growing.
Fred Ward has been confirmed for the role of Herbert LeeMaster. Ward has played in such films as the Academy Award winning, “The Right Stuff” and “Naked Gun 33-1/3, The Final Insult.”
Alex and Graham Miller have been confirmed as being cast to play the identical twin boys, Pete and Andy Goodwyn. The Miller boys have starred in several hit television series, such as “Desperate Housewives” and “Pushing Daisies.” They also appeared in, “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”
McKenzie Mauzy will play the blond, blue eyed, good Christian Bainbridge girl, Maggie Maloye. Mauzy has a list of credits including “Drop Dead Diva,” “CSI – Crime Scene Investigation,” “Law & Order,” and “The Bold & The Beautiful.”
The role of Bainbridge bad boy, Gordon LeeMaster, will be played by Daniel Samonas, who has appeared in television episodes of “Entourage,” “I Carly,” “CSI NY” and “ER.”
Other offers to actors are still pending as of press time, but expectations are that all will be set and ready for principle photography to begin as scheduled.
Desert Wind plans to shoot six-day work weeks, and wrap it up on Oct. 11.
