The University of Georgia announced the names of undergraduate students who were named Presidential Scholarsfor summer semester. The Presidential Scholar designation recognizes undergraduates who have scored a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the semester. The students from Decatur County are Jennifer Alyson Pitman, Jared Lee Dowdy, Kartik Gaman Gopal, Edward Fraser Livingston, Mary Claire Rollins, Catherine Gabrielle Soden, Nilam Paresh Patel and Rayne Eve Bishop.
