A reinvigorated, renovated Bainbridge Country Club was the site of a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours on Thursday evening.
The Bainbridge Country Club is preparing to celebrate its 90th anniversary and its supporters are trying to spread the word about all the recreation and activities the club offers to members, said Wynema Miles, chairperson of the country club’s board of directors.
Both the country club’s 6400-yard, 18-hole golf course and its swimming pool have recently had improvements made to them, Miles told the Chamber of Commerce members who attended Thursday’s reception.
“Sherri and Bill Allen have both put in many hours to beautify and improve our golf course and club grounds,” Miles said. “It’s a thrill to know what a great facility we can offer to newcomers and longtime residents alike.”
The country club has both an Olympic-size swimming pool and a toddler pool, as well as a pool house for entertaining. In addition to the Par 72 golf course, the club also has a driving range, a pro shop and golf cart rentals.
Other amenities include full-service dining and catering services, a short-order grill and a full-service lounge and bar.
The country club is making an effort to host more fun family activities throughout the year, Miles said. Events include special holiday and seasonal gatherings, pool parties and golf clinics and etiquette classes for youth.
The country club will hold a fall family festival on Oct. 15.
The Bainbridge Country Club is semi-private, meaning that its golf course and banquet room are still available for use by the public, although there are special benefits and rates for members.
