Several members of the Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA Extreme Swim Team, coached by Karla Norris of the Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club (ATAC) program, had strong state qualifying performances at the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) District 3 Meet in Tifton on July 10.

Lucas Nesmith, competing in the 15-to-18-year-old boys B division, qualified with a first-place 50-yard butterfly time of 28.71 and a second-place 100-yard individual medley time of 1:04.86.

Tyner Cobb, competing in the 11-and-12-year-old boys B division, qualified with a first-place 50-yard butterfly time of 54.34.

Tara Marie Stevens, competing in the 11-and-12-year-old girls B division, qualified first in the 100-yard individual medley in a time of 1:18.70 and second in the 60-yard breaststroke in a time of 40.37.

Thad Whitaker, competing in the 9-and-10-year-old boys B division, qualified first in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 47.55.
