The Bainbridge High School FFA Chapter has been selected as the Area 5 Outstanding Chapter for 2009-2010. This is the second year in a row the chapter achieved this status. The Outstanding Chapter award is given annually to the chapter that excels in FFA activities on the local, state and national level, goes beyond the call of duty, and represents a well rounded program.
During the course of the year, the Bainbridge High Chapter had the National proficiency winner in Agriculture Education and the region proficiency winner in Veterinary Medicine. The chapter also competed on the area level and advanced to state in Wildlife Management, Agricultural Communications, Nursery Landscape, Parliamentary Procedure, FFA Quiz, and Jr. Public Speaking Career Development Events. Bainbridge FFA also participated on the area level in Floral Design, Tractor Operations and Maintenance, Lawn Mower Operations and Maintenance, Job Interview, Creed Speaking, and Welding Career Development Events. Bainbridge FFA also had the region winner in the Top Gun Welding Competition.
As always, the livestock team exhibited at many livestock shows bringing home many 1st places and championships with all species shown.
I am very proud our chapter received this award again this year. They have worked very hard this year preparing and competing in many events. Our members have achieved great success, and it is an honor to be recognized in this capacity for our chapter’s accomplishments.
