As a senior art Brookwood he set a record in the 100-yard butterfly in Georgia Association of Independent Schools (GAIS) competition, breaking a 14-year record.
He also broke his own record in the 200-yard freestyle, maintained his 500-yard freestyle record and was named All-American in the 100-yard butterfly.
Last year, Hinson and Jackson Brannon, who is now a junior at Brookwood, brought home the second place trophy in the GAIS state meet. In February, Hinson and Brannon placed fifth overall in the boys division.
