A funeral service for Willie Mae Pettis Hobbs, 91, of Attapulgus, was held Monday, Aug. 30, at Attapulgus Church of God with the Revs. Joseph Crews, Dennis Johnson and Glenn Ring officiating.

Interment followed at Brinson Cemetery with Dean Goff, Chris Goff, Rick Spooner, John Mclendon, Keith Lafferty and Kyle Singletary serving as active pallbearers.

Born Oct. 20, 1918, in Graceville, Fla., Mrs. Hobbs died on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.

Mrs. Hobbs married John H. Hobbs on Sept. 18, 1941, and they moved to Attapulgus in 1958. She was a member of Attapulgus Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John H. Hobbs.

Survivors include two sons, Ken Hobbs of Griffin, Ga., and Gary Hobbs of Donalsonville, Ga.; two daughters, Janey Williams of Attapulgus and Janet Patterson of Bristol, Fla.; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
