Funeral services for Ruby T. Howard, 90, of Bainbridge, were held Friday, July 2, at Wesley Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Bainbridge with the Rev. Johnny B. Jackson of Columbus, Ga., officiating.

Interment followed in Mount Olive Cemetery with David Butler, Charles Butler, Lorenzo Porter, Bobby Sanders Jr., Miguel Sanders and Titamus Howard serving as active pallbearers.

Born Sept. 25, 1919, in the Eldorendo community of Decatur County, Mrs. Howard died on June 28, 2010, at Bainbridge Healthcare.

Mrs. Howard was retired from the Columbia, Ala., peanut mill and was a member of Wesley Chapel A.M.E.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie D. Howard.

Survivors include two sons, Lester Turner and Jerry Gray; two daughters, Eurlene Butler and Mary Sanders; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
